Our history

As the former Skoda transformer factory, this plant has a proud history of producing distribution, power and other various types of world class transformers dating back to 1923. The factory is located on the old Skoda brick factory site developed in 1918 – 1919 in Doudlevce, Pilsen close to Prague.

The production started in 1921 and included the electrotechnical assembly for engineering supplies, components for heavy-current electrotechnical engineering, energy and electric traction units. The first transformer has been produced in 1923 and first traction transformer has been succesfully produced in 1965. We have decided to abandon the wide range of products and instead focus only on the production of transformers, choke coils and reactors.

Since 2004 ETD TRANSFORMATORY is a proud member of the International BEZ Group. The privately owned International BEZ Group, based in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic is a transformer power house in central Europe. The holding company combines a significant amount of transformer knowledge and expertise of some of the most respected and renowned European producers and service companies of small, medium and large power transformers in one group.
